History and Press

The start: It all began in Lubbock Texas where Saul Garcia decided to go to school. He went to Lubbock Barber College and became a barber. In 1969, Saul and Pearl Garcia moved to Odessa Texas. They bought the Airport Grocery Store on the corner 76th and Andrews Highway. This is when and where the power house couple united their art work and talents and added Saul Barber Shop and Pearl Resturant. The Garcias' made it through the boom and bust. In 1991, Pearl Garcia retired and the Garcias sold the Airport Grocery Store. Saul Garcia contiuned his love and passion for cutting hair and relocated the shop just 21 blocks away from the origanal shop.

Today: Saul Garcia relocated to the 50th block of Andrews Highway and began as a one man shop. Through the years many of generations passed through those doors. His daughter Terrie Garcia now runs the shop. She continous to get 3rd, 4th, and and even 5th generation into the shop. Saul Barber shop crew is ready to make the you, your family and friends look well groomed.

 Fun Facts: Saul and Pearl knew the importance of using talent while multi-tasking running the Airport Grocery. They sold everything from floral arraingments, mums, wreaths etc(made by Pearl),to coin collections(collected by Saul). They sold mexican imports from tapes, to books, to candles etc. They cashed checkes, had the coldest beer in town and rented out VHS(1980's) both English and Spanish. Rented houses and trailers. All on corner of 76th Andrews Highway.
